Planning to enter college soon?
If so, the Family Empowerment Summit is for you, providing tips and tools for navigating the college admissions process.
The free event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at Inderkum High School, 2500 New Market Dr. Natomas Unified's Parent CORES is coordinating the summit in partnership with UC Davis.
Separate workshops will be provided for parents and students, covering topics ranging from college eligibility requirements to financial aid and writing an effective personal statement for the admissions application.
Dr. Joel Rabin, Executive Director of NUSD's Research and Data Department, will launch the summit by speaking about NUSD's transition from its current student information system, infinite-campus, to a new provider, Infinite Campus.
Child care, Spanish translation, and a free lunch will be available at the Family Empowerment Summit. More information is available at www.parentcores.com.
