Good news comes in bunches -- and boxes, apparently.

For the second time in less than a month, Natomas Unified School District has benefited from donations by a local retailer of boxes brimming with student supplies. This time, the giver was Dollar Tree, 2000 Club Center Drive. About two weeks ago, Walgreens chipped in 13 boxes of classroom goods.

Danny Novak, manager of Dollar Tree, said he finds it particularly rewarding to help schools because he has three small children himself.

Novak, who donated the goods to Natomas High School, estimated their value at roughly $1,500. The supplies were purchased by Dollar Tree customers over a two-month period. Principal Mark Beebe said the donations are appreciated and will be put to good use by Nighthawk students.

"It felt really good to do that,” Novak said of his store's donation.
