Message to parents prior to anticipated storm

The following message was sent by Natomas Unified to families Tuesday night, prior to this week's expected storm.

“A few people have asked about our plans for Natomas Unified schools if high winds and heavy rain hit the area, as predicted, this week. Storms this time of year are nothing new in the Sacramento area – although we recognize it has been a few years since a forecast like this. Schools will be open all this week, unless or until a different action is needed. In Natomas Unified, procedures exist for responding to unforeseen campus circumstances – non-emergency or emergency – and the District is reminding staff to follow those procedures. In a storm like this, an extended power outage is a possibility. If  that occurs, the school(s) and District office will work together to resolve the situation on a site-by-site basis. We’re taking a look at extracurricular activities and activity plans to see if it’s logical to hold events over the next few days. We’ve faced inclement weather before and as a community we’ve always done a good job of keeping our children safe.”
