Natomas Middle School is rolling out the welcome mat Saturday and again March 12 with Parent Visitation Days for families of 5th and 6th graders – or anyone thinking about enrolling in a local middle school in the future.
The NMS visitation days are scheduled from 9-11 a.m. this Saturday (March 7), and from 6-8 p.m. next Thursday, March 12. Student-lead tours are planned at 9:15 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. for Saturday’s event, and at 6:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. for next Thursday’s gathering.
Participants will see an informational video about NMS, see the school’s Jazz Band and Cheer Squad perform, and have the opportunity to ask a student panel questions about the campus and its programs.
NMS offers an International Baccalaureate candidate program, an IB design course, Mandarin Chinese classes and has a renowned band and orchestra program, among other attractions.
If you have questions about the Parent Visitation Days, call NMS directly at 916-567-5540.
Leroy Greene Academy and Natomas Gateways Middle School already have held Parent Visitation Days, part of a wide-ranging effort to introduce interested families to their campus, its programs, and its unique academic options.
The open houses come at a time when 5th graders are gathering information to help them choose among Natomas Middle, Leroy Greene Academy and Natomas Gateways as the middle school they will attend next year.
Fifth-graders face a March 20 deadline for choosing a middle school, after which they will be assigned to a campus based on the location of their residence.
