Apples for the teacher? Yes! ... But why stop there? Let's throw in some bananas, strawberries, grapes, kiwis, squash, bell peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes and snap peas. That's precisely what Natomas Unified did Wednesday, offering a free Farmers Market to teachers and staff at each school site and at the Ed Center.

Farm-fresh fruits and vegetables were purchased for employees using funds provided by NUSD's insurer to promote health and wellness. A total of 125 cases of produce were distributed district-wide for employees to select from on a first-come, first-served basis.

The free Farmers Market is another way NUSD is saying "thank you" to staff as the curtain falls on a terrific school year.
