Here are two sure-fire ways for Natomas students to have fun at North Natomas Regional Park as summer winds down ...

A family movie night will be held Saturday, Aug. 1, featuring the animated film "A Bug's Life" at 8 p.m. Participants can enjoy popcorn, cotton candy, water, face painting, a photo booth and bounce house -- all free! -- from 6-8 p.m.

"A Bug's Life" was produced by Pixar Animation Studios and distributed by Disney, which describes it as follows: "Embark on an incredible journey with one little ant as he searches for a brave band of warriors to help him battle the bullying grasshoppers who threaten his home. When he stumbles on a bumbling troupe of circus bugs instead, their only hope for victory is the bond of friendship and the awesome power of imagination." North Natomas Regional Park also will come alive with a Farmers Market behind Inderkum High School from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7.  Fruit, produce, honey and flowers will be among products sold. Adding to the fun will be a live band, face painting, balloon twisting and food trucks.

Both events are sponsored by Sacramento Mayor Pro Tem Angelique Ashby.
