In School News…

Hey Tigers! Friday Night Live wishes to invite you to our free after school movie night, next Friday the 21st at 3:30. We will be watching the movie Frozen, all are welcome.

Inderkum High School’s annual Spring Blood Drive is coming up March 20th. Sign ups for the blood drive are being held in the atrium at your lunch until March 14th. You must be at least 16 years old to be able to donate. Make sure you pick up a teacher permission slip and get it signed before you sign it to donate blood.

The Bookkeepers office and the Student Store will not accept checks for any purchases. You can pay by Money Order, Debit Card, or Credit Card only!

There will be a Tiger Bazaar this Friday featuring delicious food venders such as Squeeze In, Jamba Juice, and many more. Don’t forget your money tigers!

Auditions for the IHS Talent Show and Spring Multicultural Rally are coming up Thursday, March 27th after school in the Leadership room. See you there!

Inderkum High School PTSA presents a Safe and Sober Grad Nite fundraiser, “Celebration of the Arts” in honor of Cesar Chavez on April 4th, 2014. Please join us for an evening of music, dance, art, fashion, poetry, food and so much more.

Dylan Akins passed away in July 2013 shortly after graduating from Inderkum High School. In honor of Dylan’s memory, his family created the Dylan Akins Scholarship Fund to help collegebound student athletes. Applications for 2014 scholarships are currently being accepted. Also, Ice Salon and Spa on 1900 Del Paso Rd. will be hosting a special day of services on March 30th from 12pm-4pm, benefiting the Dylan Akins Scholarship Fund. AP students it is time to register and pay for your exams.  Cost of the exam is 89 dollars or 5 dollars if you qualify for free/reduced lunch.  Remember, to qualify for the reduced rate you need to complete both the blue eligibility form and print out of confirmation from schoollunchstatus.com.  Bring registration form, payment, and eligibility forms to the student store by Thursday, March 27th.  Don’t procrastinate.

PROM, PROM, PROM! Inderkum High School’s Junior and Senior Prom is coming up on Saturday, May 3rd!!! Prom tickets are now on sale in the student store starting at $100 with ASB and $135 without!! All money collected is non-refundable. Prom permission slips and guest passes are now available in the front office. Don’t miss out on this amazing experience in the city of San Francisco!! Space is limited so buy your tickets today and make it a night to remember!!

 

Career Center…

Kaiser is holding their Summer Youth Employment Program again this year.  Students must be 16 years old by June 1st.  Applications are in Career Center and Counseling Office, deadline to apply is March 30th

Interested in politics?  There are two exciting opportunities for students.  One is an opportunity to volunteer with a campaign for State Assembly and the other is a 5 week summer internship for juniors and seniors to see how the branches of government work.  Any interested students can stop by the Career Center for more information.

The North Natomas Library is hosting a Teen Job Search event on Thursday March 13th from 3:30-5:30 where you can work on a resume, get interview skills, and learn how to avoid negative social media attention. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to get FREE job advice.

PG&E is having their Summer Jobs Program again this year!  Students 15-18 years old can apply to attend a career education program and interview for the summer job.  The application is available in the counseling office and career center and is due on Friday March 21st.
