Committing to Graduate Together
Ms. Downing is always thinking about how to grow and foster thinking for her students as they explore physics. She explains and shows what it means to think about models and explanations so that her students practice it every day.
Ms. Brodrick represents this attribute because she facilitates learning for all curricular subjects. She observes, contemplates, researches, reflects – then addresses a problem with a solution.
Anela is the most creative thinker Mr. Gay has taught in all his years as a visual arts teacher. Her problem-solving skills are only matched by her talent in the graphic arts. Her approach to the design process (which is all about thinking) is unmatched amongst her peers.
Mrs. Dills exemplifies the INQUIRER because of her never-ending pursuit of better practice, progressive innovation, and depth of knowledge. She is an asset to IHS because of her skillful teaching and her commitment to inquiry.
Kamari has wonderful, insightful mind that analyses issues from multiple perspectives. His comments and questions move the class forward in a way that few can replicate.
Delaney exemplifies logical thinking. She consistently evaluates her explanations to be sure they are consistent with her prior knowledge and consciously modifies her understanding as she gathers new evidence.
Mrs. Keenan exemplifies the caring attribute because of the relationship she forms with her students. Their interest is always her priority and she is mindful of her students feelings.
Irene helps her fellow classmates after learning or practicing the concepts. She is a role model, and is achieving her potential.
Mrs. Hite-Leach has worked on strong and persistent communication with all staff and community. She loves her field, and she believes in helping EVERYONE "get on board" to better serve ALL students!
Valentina is first and foremost kind, compassionate and has a beautifully gentle spirit, considering the needs others before her own and how she can use her natural talents and gifts to help others.
Mr. Lemus is a great young teacher, always seeking to understand the perspective of others.
Mr. Gay is not afraid to speak his mind and ask meaningful questions that are often on a lot of minds.
Within the walls of Ms. Connell's classroom, students experience equality in it's purest sense. They know that they are a valued, respected, and important part of the daily academic process.
Isaac listens in class, then asks questions to help him clarify the concept to himself. This week, he asked leading questions that would be expected from a co-teacher to get the students thinking, or to segue into the next topic.
Isaac has taken great risks this year in both his wrestling and academic endeavors. Good luck on the AP Spanish exam!
