The Beavers’ new Principal is Alana Cayabyab, who has experience at the elementary and middle school levels, has served as a teacher and school administrator, and is particularly suited to Bannon Creek because she is fluent in Spanish and taught for five years in an elementary bilingual immersion program. Her Assistant Principal has not yet been selected.

Ms. Cayabyab, selected from a field of 17 candidates, will begin her new job this summer. She currently serves as an Assistant Principal at Natomas Middle School, so she is very familiar with this community, this school district, and our Board-approved Vision of college and career readiness. She is energetic, passionate, approachable, and deeply committed to building strong ties with Bannon Creek students, staff, and
families.

A lifelong learner herself, Ms. Cayabyab has a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. As an educator over the past eight years, she has helped create a classroom incentive program to improve attendance, served as an English Learner instructional coach, and worked to implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports to enhance school culture, among other things.

At Bannon Creek, Ms. Cayabyab will be part of a school that has plans for new construction, a developing focus on dual immersion, a strong Beaver community, and a very bright future. Please join us in welcoming Ms. Cayabyab as the new Principal. A meet-and-greet session will be scheduled so you can talk with her about the coming year. We will notify you when a date and time has been set. Thank you very much.
