The Beaver’s new Assistant Principal is Ekuah Ramsey-Gilbert who has been a part of the Natomas Unified School District for over five years where she has served as a Counselor, College and Career Coordinator, Math Teacher and Coordinator of Student Affairs. Mrs. Ramsey-Gilbert’s most recent position as a Counselor has afforded her the opportunity to work with many students in the areas of academics, college and career readiness and social emotional learning. She has implemented a successful peer conflict mediation program that mirrors a restorative justice approach which allowed students to work together to resolve disputes or conflicts and helped to create and maintain a positive school environment. As an advocate for students, Mrs. Ramsey-Gilbert is passionate about being a part of a school culture that is welcoming and supportive to all who are involved.

Mrs. Ramsey-Gilbert was born and raised in Sacramento California and has resided in the Natomas community with her husband and 3 children for the past 8 years. She attended California State University, Long Beach where she earned a full ride scholarship to play Division 1 basketball but completed her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology at California State University of Sacramento. Along with sporting activities, Mrs. Ramsey-Gilbert enjoys music, movies and traveling with her family.

Mrs. Ramsey-Gilbert further pursued her educational journey by completing her Master’s Degree in Psychology through the University of Phoenix.
