NUSD’s Board of Trustees has voted to designate the new school planned in northwest Natomas as a K-8 facility. When it opens next year, it will offer Transitional Kindergarten through 5th grades,  then expand by one grade level annually for the following three years. The new school will launch at an interim Del Paso Road site – current home of Westlake Charter School – while a new campus is built nearby.

Students who reside within the new school’s boundary but currently attend another school can choose between the two next year.  For a map of the new school’s boundary, click here.

Plans call for the new school to offer a rigorous academic curriculum, including an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) and a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM).

Students can enroll for the new school beginning Nov. 1, or for other campuses beginning Dec. 1. The transfer process for all NUSD schools begins Nov. 1. More information is available  on NUSD’s website Enrollment Page here.

Soon, District staff will contact residents living within the new school’s boundary to discuss their enrollment options for 2017-18. If you have questions, please contact Constituent and Customer Services at 561-5253.
