I love working for a progressive healthcare company that is trying to disrupt the system!”

Q: How would you complete this sentence? NUSD was good for me because …

A: “NUSD was good for me because I was challenged to take initiative and get involved with the many opportunities in front of me!”

Q: How did an NUSD education help prepare you for college or career?

A: “NUSD helped me prepare for college and my career by providing me with the tools to be successful as an adult in the real world. (A favorite quote from my dad throughout my high school career was: ‘Learning how to be a successful adult and person in the real world is what truly matters!’) By learning  how to balance multiple commitments, I have learned how to be successful professionally in addition to enjoying my life and making the most of my abilities and interests. Through working hard in my career and pushing myself academically, I have also learned how to balance it with volunteer work and leadership roles outside of work.”

Q: What advice would you give to current students?

A: “My advice for current students would be to challenge yourself and get involved! Take advantage of the opportunities you have to build that confidence and self-esteem. Take time to develop your goals and consider a plan to achieve these goals. Everyone is capable of success, you just have to try!”

Q: Favorite memory from NUSD days?

A: “My favorite memory from NUSD was being part of ASB (student leadership.) The Leadership program at Inderkum allowed me to interact with students from each grade level and learn the interests of many different individuals! I enjoyed being a leader and working with others to organize events and make decisions for the student population at our school. The skills and lessons I learned in ASB have stayed with me through today and allow me to be a better leader in my career.”

Q: Future goals?

A: “I hope to get my MBA in Healthcare Management and use this degree to diligently work toward improving the healthcare experience for patients here in the United States. I also want to continue to be an advocate and mentor for young girls looking to succeed and (work toward improving) their confidence and self esteem.”

NUSD’S BOARD-APPROVED VISION: “All NUSD students graduate as college and career ready, productive, responsible, and engaged global citizens.”
