Celebrating our Diversity

Celebrating our diversity

Welcome to the Natomas Unified School District Multicultural Recognition Webpage where you can find our Calendar of Recognitions and Cultural Awareness, library of culturally-relevant grade-level books, resources for the classroom or home, and any upcoming events.

It is important to note that the Natomas community is one of the most diverse communities in the nation, and one of our community’s strongest attributes. We value diversity, equity, and inclusion, and we strive to be as inclusive as possible. With the help, input, and support from our staff, students, and families, we can collaboratively work together for an inclusive Natomas where everyone is respected and feels welcomed and valued.

Feast and Learn at the NUSD Table

feast and learn

Inviting all NUSD students, staff, and families from all backgrounds to Feast and Learn at the NUSD Table! Throughout the school year, Natomas Unified will celebrate cultural recognitions by cooking, and sharing recipes and history on-camera.

We invite students to show off their culinary talents with our staff in a video that we will share with the community.

At the end of the school year, NUSD will compile all of the recipes and share the “Feast and Learn at the NUSD Table” cookbook, which will be available digitally for all.

If your culture isn’t listed in the flyers below and you want to share your story, please email: [email protected].

Please fill out this form if you and/or your student are interested in participating.

Our first video of the series will include a recipe for gorditas from Mexico, in time for National Hispanic Heritage Month in September.
