Natomas Adult Education exists to eliminate barriers and enhance opportunities for students’ lifelong growth in their academic, professional and personal endeavors.
Step 1: Fill out and turn in the registration form which can be found at the adult education office. If interested in completing your high school diploma; please bring in official (sealed) transcripts.
Step 2: Orientation and Placement Test. Call and schedule a time to meet with, Juana de Anda to learn all about the services and programs offered at NAE and schedule a time to take the CASAS assessment test. Your score(s) will determine the class in which you will be enrolled.
Step 3: Enroll in class. You will be scheduled to start class based on availability. Some programs (classes) could be subject to a wait list.

We offer programs and services free to low-cost to all adults over the age of 18.
Our program helps adults finish their high school education and begin enhancing skills to help you further your education, start a new career or even explore an interest in another career path. Citizenship classes are offered for those wanting to become an American citizen or students can choose to take a culinary course to master the art of cuisine in Discovery High School’s new state of the art Culinary Center & Cafe.

Our GED preparation class provides students with the skills to meet the high-school level academics to pass the GED exam. Our course has also implemented ERWC (Expository Reading and Writing Course) which is a rhetoric-based English language arts course designed to develop academic literacy to prepare students for College.
The GED exam consists of five different sections and requires 450 as a minimum passing score.

Esta clase te preparará para pasar el GED y mejorar tus habilidades para continuar su educación o carrera profesional!

Enroll in our High School Credit Recovery program and obtain your Adult Education Diploma.
Our online program and flexible hours will help you complete your goals! The class provides students with the opportunity to complete the credits that were deficient to graduate from a traditional high school. This program offers an individualized learning plan that allows students to work independently through the APEX online system.
In addition to our flexible program, we require 160 credits in specific subject areas to obtain the Adult Education diploma (Traditional High School’s require 220 credits to earn diploma.)

Improve your English through our English as a Second Language (ESL) class.
Our program offers two classes; a Beginner/Intermediate and an Intermediate/Advanced English Language course. Our teachers emphasize on developing student’s skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English as it relates to everyday life in familiar and unfamiliar situations and tasks.

The U.S. Citizenship Test is a required step in the Naturalization process to become a citizen of the United States.
Our U.S Citizenship class offers the ideal preparation to help students apply for Naturalization and prepare to pass the interview and exam.
Our program prepares you at no cost, but the Naturalization application has a non-refundable fee.
