As students prepare for a transitional reopening and as a reminder when they return to campus, it’s important for them to know and understand the changes to their school and what they need to do to keep themselves and everyone around them safe and healthy. NUSD has compiled a series of videos and colorful graphics to help students understand how they can do their part to stop the spread of COVID-19.
As NUSD looks to a transitional reopening, we need families to make a decision about their students’ educational options. Please complete one decision form per NUSD student in your household no later than October 26, 2020.

NUSD shares a series of school site videos designed to share our site safety procedures and actions we have taken to prepare for the return to in-person classes when the time comes.
As part of September’s Suicide Prevention Month, Natomas Unified wants to ensure parents and primary caregivers are aware of the prevalence of suicide and suicide attempts among youth, the warning signs of suicide, how to respond when they recognize their child or another youth is at risk, and where to turn for help in the community when a crisis occurs.
Last year, students designed a poster related to bullying prevention. This year, students are invited to submit a 60-second PSA that will help spread their message about how each of us (individually or as a group) can prevent/end bullying in a kind, nonviolent manner. The contest will be divided into four winners: K-3, 4-6, 7-8, and grades 9-12.
Natomas Unified School District Virtual Tutoring and Wellness Center is now open and available to assist students and parents with online appointments for academic and social-emotional support, answers to health-related issues, and workshops for both students and parents. To provide flexibility for working parents, the center is open virtually after school on Mondays – Thursdays between 3-8 p.m., and Fridays between 3-5 p.m.
Our awesome community partner, Sacramento Public Library, has created a FREE virtual library with access to over 50 online resources including ebooks, magazines, research tools and family activities.
Effective September 1, 2020, following USDA waivers, breakfast and lunch will be available for free to anyone 18 and under.
