New H. Allen Hight Principal Jason Manviller

Principal Jason Manviller

Dear Hight Families,

Welcome back to the 2018-2019 school year! My name is Jason Manviller and it is my privilege to join Hight elementary as the new principal. I am very excited to be part of an exceptional team of educators, secretaries, and custodians that make Hight Elementary a wonderful place for students. I look forward to greeting you on campus soon but for now, a bit about my background and experience that I bring to our school. I am a southern California native and attended the University of Southern California- Fight On! I was an elementary teacher for 10 years in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade. For the past two years, I served as principal of an elementary school in San Rafael, CA. I enjoy hiking and I’m an animal lover! One of the best and scariest hiking trips I have taken was climbing Half Dome in Yosemite.

I want to thank the parents and teachers that came out in May to meet with me at Hight in the library. I appreciated your enthusiasm for the school and where you see us heading. As the school year starts I will continue to make these opportunities to hear from you throughout the year. You may see a survey, an invitation to coffee with the principal, or catch me on campus and say hello. From the feedback I received, there are a couple of areas where staff and I will begin to focus on for 2018-2019. A priority will be streamlining communication to families and utilizing our website for promoting events, calendaring, and other important information. Continuing to build on our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS), staff and I will implement best practices that support students, provide clear expectations, and reward positive behavior. As our campus receives a fresh coat of paint, the staff and I will work to make our interior halls and common areas reflect the school we are, with student art and work showcasing the talent of our Hight Cheetahs!

Best,

Mr. Manviller
