As you prepare for the 2021-2022 school year, please remember to keep your child’s immunization records on-hand. California requires students TK/Kindergarten through 12th grade to have the following immunizations:
- Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (DTaP, DTP, Tdap, or Td) — 5 doses
(4 doses OK if one was given on or after 4th birthday. 3 doses OK if one was given on or after 7th birthday.)
For 7th-12th graders, at least 1 dose of pertussis-containing vaccine is required on or after 7th birthday.
- Polio (OPV or IPV) — 4 doses
(3 doses OK if one was given on or after 4th birthday)
- Hepatitis B — 3 doses
(not required for 7th grade entry)
- Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) — 2 doses
(Both given on or after 1st birthday)
- Varicella (Chickenpox) — 2 doses
California schools are required to check immunization records for all new student admissions at TK/Kindergarten through 12th grade and all students advancing to 7th grade before entry. Parents must show their child’s Immunization Record as proof of immunization to the school prior to admittance. Parents/Guardians can scan or email immunization records to [email protected].
How to Make an Appointment
NUSD will hold free immunization clinics to between July 28 and August 26. If your child is in need of immunizations, please schedule an appointment today. Clinic dates, times and locations are:
July 28 from 5-7 p.m. (T-Dap only) at Natomas Middle School, 3200 North Park Dr.
July 31 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Natomas High School, 3301 Fong Ranch Rd.
August 4 & 5 from 2-8 p.m. at NUSD Service Center, 1931 Arena Blvd.
August 11 & 12 from 2-8 p.m. at NUSD Service Center, 1931 Arena Blvd.
August 18 & 19 from 2-6 p.m. at NUSD Service Center, 1931 Arena Blvd.
August 25 & 26 from 2-6 p.m. at NUSD Service Center, 1931 Arena Blvd.
