Assessment/CFU
“What do you think a fish face looks like?” Students will draw fish faces and label them before teacher reads Fish Faces. (This is in lieu of “Write About It” TE 2183). Teacher may need to teach or compare features of human faces vs. fish faces, e.g., eyes, nose, eyebrows, whiskers, etc.
KWL Chart: Days 2/3: students generate and add questions about what they want to learn about sea creatures in the second column.
Exploration Report: see Week 1 for process (Picture... I observe...I wonder... I predict); demonstrate or model process using clownfish as an example.
Repeat Sentence Patterning Chart: (see week #1 for format and directions) Use fish or undersea creature for the noun.
Extension Activity:
Have students go back to their Fish Face drawings and ask them to develop a complete sentence to describe their fish face.
