Student created bubble map comparing the stories, MAKE WAY FOR DUCKLINGS by Robert McCloskey and LUCKY DUCKLINGS by Eva Moore can be used as an assessment of student learning.
Opening/Warmup/Connecting Prior Knowledge
The teacher can use a photograph of a baby duck and a clip art picture of a duck to lead the students in a conversation about ducks and how the two pictures are the same and how they are different.
