This lesson begins with introducing the character and events chart and as a tool to track characters in a read aloud story (in this example I used the book Petey by Ben Mikaelson). As you read or the students read the story, students should be required to update the table.
When the story is complete, students should write a compare and contrast paragraph to show how two or more characters and their actions were similar and/or different.
