Attendance

It is important that children be punctual and attend school regularly beginning with the first day of school.  Parents who permit unnecessary absences and tardiness are hindering their child’s education. The State of California has set up certain requirements regarding attendance.  Each scholar and his/her parents are held responsible for meeting these requirements. The State requires each scholar to be in school unless his/her absence is excused.

Procedures for Notifying School of Absences

When a scholar is absent, parents are required to phone the school office at (916) 567-5580 to notify the office of the reason for the scholar’s absence or the scholar may bring a note from the parent to the homeroom teacher at the beginning of the school day when returning. The note must show the scholar’s name, date of absence, specific cause of the absence and a signature by the parent or guardian.
