The purpose of this procedure is to ensure compensatory time hours are being used and tracked appropriately.
Actions:
1. Email your immediate supervisor (and cc the Administrative Assistant for your department) requesting to work extra hours prior to doing so. Clearly state that you want to be compensated for the extra hours with comp time.
Information to include in your request:
- How many extra hours you would like to work
- The date you would like to work extra hours
- Why you want to work extra hours/what you will be doing during these extra hours
2. Your immediate supervisor will “reply all”, indicating whether or not the extra hours are approved
3. If approved, “reply all” to the original email stating the actual number of extra hours you worked.
*Note: The Administrative Assistant for your department must be included in this email, as they are the individual tracking all comp. time
4. Comp. time will be logged into the Google Doc “RD CTO”
5. See the Administrative Assistant for your department when you want to use the comp. time. Approval from your immediate supervisor will be required, as will your signature acknowledging that you are using “x amount” of comp. time hours.
