Know someone who wants to attend Natomas Unified?

We’re enrolling students now into Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade for the 2019-20 school year – and it’s easier than ever to apply online because supporting documents, such as a birth certificate, no longer need to be delivered by hand.

Please help us spread the word.

Newcomers to NUSD next year will be joining a growing district on the move, with a K-12 continuum of International Baccalaureate (IB) and high school opportunities ranging from the academically rigorous AP Capstone program to the new career pathways in Public Safety and Building and Construction Trades being added to the six career pathways we already offer.

Students signing up now, through Jan. 31, will have first priority in enrolling in the school they desire, if space is available. They will be notified of their status and placement options on or after March 1, 2019.

By filling out online registration and pushing a few keyboard buttons, applicants can get the ball rolling through the following links on our Enrollment webpage.

Begin by using this online tool to locate your neighborhood school, then select one of the following enrollment options.

1) New students who live within NUSD boundaries and want to attend their neighborhood school can apply here.

2) New students who live within NUSD boundaries and want to attend a school outside their neighborhood can apply here and then complete this form request.

3) Existing students who want to transfer to another school within the district can complete this form request.

For families that prefer paper, enrollment packets can be downloaded from the enrollment webpage or obtained in person at NUSD schools or the district’s Education Center, 1901 Arena Blvd.

Supporting documents needed to enroll in the district include the student’s birth certificate, immunization record and proof of residency. Previous grades and other documents also may be required, depending upon the child’s grade level and other circumstances, such as whether he or she is in Special Education. A complete list is available here.

During the enrollment period that began Dec. 1, students who live outside NUSD but want to attend one of our schools can apply. Before doing so, however, they must complete an Interdistrict Transfer Permit request and receive approval from their home district. More details can be found here. These students will be assigned to an NUSD school only after in-boundary families are accommodated.
