Leroy Greene Academy (LGA) is developing plans for an athletic department. This week, the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) approved LGA as an associate member of CIF-Sac Joaquin Section (CIF-SJS), making it eligible to start junior varsity athletic teams in 2014-2015. Earlier this year, LGA surveyed its students to assess their interest in athletics and what sports they would consider participating in. LGA will continue to work with its families to possibly field their first teams starting in Fall 2014.
A charter school operated by the Natomas Unified School District, Leroy Greene Academy currently serves students in seventh through ninth grades. Next year it will add 10th grade.
