Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in NUSD – LGBTQ+

As a school district, Natomas Unified is committed to a Culture of Resilience and our values of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. We are unwavering in this commitment to ensure that all students are safe, included, and supported.

In alignment with these values, Natomas Unified is implementing best practices and policies for providing supportive, affirming spaces for our self-identified LGBTQ+ students, in compliance with California Education Code and federal civil rights law.

In addition to offering training to teachers and parents on how to best support LGBTQ+ students, NUSD is equipping our mental health support professionals with a Support Guide to be used alongside school administration and caregivers. This guide includes resources and best practices from the CDE regarding student records and name changes.
