Welcome Back Grizzly Families…
I couldn’t be more excited to have the opportunity to continue serving as the principal of Natomas Gateways Middle School and to continue being a part of this wonderful community. Welcome to the 2018-19 school year at Natomas Gateways Middle School! It is a great time to be a Grizzly, and we have an exciting year ahead. I am honed to continue to be part of the Gateways and Natomas High community as we enter this exciting year of transformation and opportunity. We welcome our 8th grade students back this fall to continue focusing on college and career readiness by preparing our students to be successful future Nighthawks! Gateways Middle School and Natomas High School are excited to work together in partnership to support the class of 2023. We will continue to do great things together!
As we enter our fifth year, NGMS is adjusting our elective course offerings as part of our continuing efforts to refine our STEM pathways and build a school community and culture of success. You are going to love all of our student activities, clubs, rallies, and annual program events that showcase our amazingly talented Grizzly students. We can’t wait for you to be a part of it all!
Our office reopens on August 1st at 1:00 p.m. Please call or visit us if you have any questions or need any help in preparing for the school year to begin. As we get the school year underway, there will be many opportunities for parents and community members to get involved on campus. We are looking for parents to serve on our School Site Council, English Learner Advisory Committee and volunteer on campus for activities and field trips. If you are interested, please be sure to sign up during our orientations or contact the front office. Throughout the school year, you will receive weekly Tele-PAW calls and emails with important information about what’s going on at Gateways and how you can get involved. Look for those phone calls and emails as we lead up to important events.
It is a privilege to be part of the Natomas Gateways community. The responsibility of educating your Grizzly/Future Nighthawk student is great, and together we can meet this challenge and help your student and our school succeed. Thank you for entrusting your child to us every day, and I look forward to an outstanding 18-19 school year!
