As you are driving or walking past Natomas High School on Truxel Road, you will see construction underway for improvements to the Nighthawks’ soccer field. It’s all a part of the District’s ongoing investments to provide safe, well-maintained and modernized facilities for students.
Although the Natomas High School Soccer team will continue to utilize their newly renovated stadium that was completed in 2020, the natural grass fields will provide an additional two fields for practice and play. When it’s all complete, there will be installation of natural turf, drought resistant landscaping, and a more efficient water system to help maintain the field.
And there’s more…. While that construction is going on, additional construction will begin this April at Natomas High School for a renovated baseball field, and beginning in May, the school’s softball field. Both baseball and softball will have electronic scoreboards, new bleachers, score keeper stations, dugouts, bullpens, and batting cages. There will also be a new restroom building located between the soccer and baseball fields.
Similar work has been completed at Inderkum High School for a renovated baseball/soccer fields and brand new softball fields. The renovation projects have been funded through state construction funds and Measure J bonds.
