6 Pillars to Successfully Reopening Schools

Superintendent Chris Evans presented our local plan to reopen our schools for 2020-21. Our local plan will follow state and county guidelines. It provides parents options for their students while keeping education and safety for all Natomas Unified front and center.

Summer School

At this time, the current landscape indicates that NUSD will need to transition Summer School for 2020 to a Distance Learning Model. While we prioritize our focus for virtual summer school, we have decided to really focus on supporting our high school students along with some targeted groups of students.

Free Summer Meals Program for Youth 18 and Under

In our ongoing effort to continue feeding our students after the last day of school and while we are required to have limited contact with others due to COVID-19, we will continue to provide free meals to anyone 18 years and younger from May 22nd through July 31st at all 15 NUSD sites. This includes breakfast, lunch, supper, and meals that can be taken home for the weekend on Fridays.
