Spring Break starts Monday, April 13, 2020 through Friday, April 17, 2020 (Week 15). No google classroom assignments will be posted this week. Have a great break! We will start distance learning full time Monday, April 20, 2020.

Hello all!
I hope everyone is doing well and healthy. I wanted to give everyone an update about their classes and what I know at this point. I am learning new information daily about how to proceed with distance/ online learning. This week, as I have been instructed by our district, I have been planning on what I will be giving my students through my google classroom and finding other online materials to support students while we are not in school. This week (Tuesday) I was able to go to school and gather materials from school to begin this distance/ online learning journey. I have also been working on how to help students retake tests/ quizzes, complete missing assignments from before the school closures to raise grades digitally and/ or extra credit research projects. I will be posting in google classroom and on my teacher website. From the information provided from our Superintendent, teachers will be starting to implement distance learning by 4/20/20. Starting next week (3/30/20 - 4/3/20), teachers have been instructed to pilot lessons online, which means to try out and practice distance learning before we go distance learning full time on 4/20/20. We have also been instructed that spring break will occur as scheduled. (4/13/20-4/17/20). Next week, I will be adding items to the google classroom and trying new ways to deliver instruction. Please be patient with me as this is a new process for me and I am learning new things each day to better support my students. I will be offering office hours every day from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday via email and google classroom. I will also continue to answer my emails throughout the school day as I have normally done before the school closure. Currently, I am working on making sure my google classroom for each period has all of my current students added. I have used google classroom this year with all of my classes so the class rosters should be mostly accurate. If a student is not part of the google classroom, I will be sending invites to those students to make sure everyone is set and ready to use google classroom. Let me know if you need any help with connecting to our google classroom.
Here is a recap:
• Week 3/23-3/27: Teachers gathering resources, materials and curriculum from school sites
• Weeks 3/30-4/3 & 4/6-4/10: Two weeks of piloting lessons, which means teachers try out and practice distance learning
• Week 4/13-4/17: Spring Break
• Week of 4/20 – Begin distance learning

The Science Fair Project was given and assigned to students on 1/25/19. This project is due March 8, 2019. Students have received two packets of information regarding this assignment. Students will also receive instruction, guidance and check in dates throughout this process to help students meet the deadline. A parent/ guardian sheet was also sent home to explain the project. This project is a very large portion of their Semester 2 grade. It is also due the last day of Quarter 3 so no late work will be accepted after the due date.
