Very soon, all families will be receiving (in US mail, email, and by text) a new type of communication called the Learning Recovery and Intervention Guide. You may recall that we asked all families to complete a survey at the beginning of the school year that asked questions about the needs of their student. To those who responded, Thank you! We will be issuing you a Digital Badge to show our appreciation for taking the time out to help us in support of your student’s success.

This is an important part of our overall Learning Recovery and Culture of Resilience efforts to address impacts of the pandemic and also pre-existing achievement and opportunity gaps.

Each family’s guide will include:
Outcome data specific to their student
A summary of their answers to the Learning Recovery family survey
A summary of their student’s answers to the student Learning Recovery survey
Recommendations based on their outcomes
A list of available intervention and learning recovery supports.  As appropriate, the recommendations will guide them to consider the available supports and engage their student in one or more.
A one-page ‘reflection guide’ will also be included that provides families some guiding questions for discussions with their student and engaging with staff.

To learn more about the guide and how you can utilize it to support your student, we have created a webpage with frequently asked questions. You can access it here. We have also scheduled Parent Engagement sessions for Monday, October 3, 2022, at 12pm and 6pm through Parent University. Both sessions are virtual and offered at two different times to provide families flexibility to attend. You can register here. If you want to wait until you receive the Guide that’s perfectly fine. We will send out a few reminders prior to then.
