Advisory Week of April 2nd. 2018 Due: Tuesday April 10, 2018
NP3 HS Information: 8th grade students who will be attending NP3 High will select courses the week of April 9th with HS Counselors and their current Advisory teacher. Copies will be sent home for parent verification. Please see attachments for more information about upcoming dates and a copy of the course selection sheet your student will be completing. If you have any questions, please contact your student's counselor.
Booster Meeting: The next Booster Meeting is 4/9 6:30pm in NP3 Library! Snacks are provided and we love your support!
Run for Rhett: Practices have resumed! Please join Mondays and Wednesdays after school on the track!
College Making it Happen: This event is at Sacramento State on 4/14. It's intended primarily for 6th-9th grade students and their families and provides practical and easy-to-understand information on how to prepare academically and financially for college. Vision Screening: All 8th graders will be vision screened on Thur 4/12. Parents will be notified if any concerns are discovered. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Let's Get Rolling: The Event Planners Action Team has planned an event for all MS students on 4/13 from 6:30-9:00pm at Foothill Farms Roller Rink. Come join the fun and see Ms. Missio for questions!
SBAC testing: SBAC is administered in April. Please make sure your student is well rested and on time for school. Testing dates: 6th grade students April 16-20; 7th grade students April 23-27; 8th grade students April 16-27.

Hello Families, SBAC State Testing: All students will participate in SBAC state testing in April. Please see attached parent letter for more details. Student Intent To Return Forms: Student intent to return forms were passed out to students and are due back to your student's Advisory teacher by Fri 3/9. If you need an extra copy, please see attachments. Multicultural Spirit Day: Celebrate your culture! Dress up in traditional or modern clothing to show your culture on March 9. If you need ideas, ask your Student Government rep! Treasure Chest Multi-Cultural Fest: For several years now, NP3 MS and HS Student Government have hosted a community event to showcase and celebrate student talent and diversity. This year will be no different. In fact, it will be even bigger and better as the ES will be part of hosting the event as well! To get this event started, we are inviting you - all the students - an opportunity to participate. Take a look at the info below and stay tuned for details on being involved: WHO: NP3 K-12 Community. Please take the attached flyer and your family out to dinner on 3/12, 5-9 pm at the Chipotle off of Truxel Blvd. Parent Conference Week: We can't wait to meet with you and have your students share about their progress! Q3 parent conferences are 3/12-3/16. There are minimum days all week. 8th Grade DC/NYC Trip: It's finally here! Students who are going on the trip will be gone from 3/15-3/20. If you have any questions please contact Ms. Silas. 8th graders not attending the trip are expected to be at school. Spring Break: Pirates will be out of school Mon 3/19-Fri 3/30. Advisory Announcements 2/19 Due: Tuesday February 27, 2018
Hello Families, Penny Wars for Patients: Students are participating in a "Penny Wars" Advisory competition to help raise money for Sacramento's Leukemia and Lymphoma Society during the month of February. Students are encouraged to bring change on Fridays during the month of February to help support this cause and their Advisory win! Outdoor Club Field Trip: Have you ever gone caving? Come join Outdoor Club at the Black Chasm Cavern near Volcano, CA. There will be on a 50-minute tour and time to explore the surrounding area on Sat 2/24 8:30-3:00. Let Ms. Marinkovich know if you want to join! Final DC/NYC meeting for current 8th graders: The final mandatory meeting for the March 2018 trip will be 2/21 6pm in the Gym. Q3 Spirit Week: Q3 Spirit Week is this week! Tuesday-Pajama Day; Wednesday-Squad Day (like twin day but with your "group" of friends); Thursday-Mismatch Day; Friday-Tye-Dye Day. If students are not dressing for a spirit day, they are expected to be dress code. Run for Rhett: NP3 will have a running team at the annual "Run for Rhett; Run Because You Can” April 22. Students train every Mon and Wed after school on the track until 4pm. At the end of the 8 weeks, students complete a 5k race. Students earn Sacramento Running Association ribbons, a cool finishers trophy, and the pride of supporting a positive cause. See Mrs. Clark for details! Practice begins Feb 26, It's healthy and free! See you on the track! March Madness: NP3 is celebrating March Madness by having our own! Qualifying rounds are happening at lunch 2/27-2/28. The actual tournament will happen at lunch 3/5-3/7 & 3/9. Sign up with Student Government! 7th Grade Field-Trip: 7th graders are headed to the bay area to tour UC Berkeley and visit the Exploratorium on 3/2. Please make sure all permission forms are turned in!

Park Clean-Up: Campus Love will be conducting a park clean-up after school on 2/16 from 3-4pm. If you would like to join please see Mrs. Qasmi. Advisory Announcements 12/11 Due: Tuesday December 19, 2017
"Good Morning! Booster Meeting: Monday 12/11 @ 6:30 pm in the NP3 Library. Snacks are provided and all are welcome! Q2 Conferences: We are so excited to host Q2 student led conferences and visit with our families. Conferences this quarter will be held 12/15 & 12/18-12/21. These will be minimum days for middle school students. Please make sure you sign up for a conference with your student's Advisory teacher! Winter Grams: 7th grade students will be selling winter grams to raise money for their field trip and to spread sunshine across campus. Grams will be sold during lunch 12/8-12/14 and will be delivered 12/20 and 12/21 at the end of 4th period. Winter Games: The event planners action team will be hosting ""winter games"" at lunch 12/12 to promote Pirate spirit before break. 7th grade Field Trip: We are excited to partake in our first Seize the Day College Tour. March 2nd our 7th grade class will visit the Exploratorium on Pier 15 in San Francisco, followed by a tour of a bay area college! The cost is $85 per student. Families have options to fundraise or volunteer a donation. We are so excited to grow our college knowledge here at NP3! More info will be given at parent conferences. Winter Break: There will be no school Fri 12/22-Fri 1/5. School will resume on Mon 1/8. Mon 1/8 is the first day of semester 2 and is a minimum day.

Advisory Announcements Due: Tuesday December 12, 2017
Booster Meeting: Monday 12/11 @ 6:30 pm in the NP3 Library. Snacks are provided and all are welcome! Giving Tree: Support local families! The Kylie Lillich Giving Tree is located in the front office. Students and families can choose ornaments off the tree to purchase gifts and items of need for local families. All gifts are due back in the office by Fri 12/8. Please see the website for additional information: http://www.kyleesgivingtree.org/. "On a Roll" Celebration: Students who are "on a roll" to honor roll will be invited to an after school celebration on 12/8 from 3-4pm in the NP3 GYM hosted by student government. Students must have all 3s and 4s on their 12/4 grade checks to be invited. Q2 Conferences: We are so excited to host Q2 student led conferences and visit with our families. Advisory Announcements 10/23 Due: Monday October 30, 2017
K-9 Open Enrollment: NP3 will be accepting applications for the 18-19 school year 10/16-11/17. K-12 applications are available in the front office and on our website. Booster Meeting: Mon 10/23 6:30 pm in the NP3 Library. Snacks are provided! Bus departure update: Beginning after the fall break there will not be a 4:15 late bus on Mondays and Fridays. Bus Pass Update: From here on out all students MUST have their buss pass in order to ride the bus. This is for safety purposes. All NP3 students are eligible to ride the bus for free but must have the completed the application process to receive their pass. Please see the transportation page on the NP3 Middle website for more information. Pizza Sale: Student Government will be selling pizza after school to raise money on 10/26. Pizza slices will be sold for $1 each. Make-up Picture Day: All students and staff who missed or need to re-do their school picture can do so on 10/25. NP3 Elementary Dig Day: NP3E would like to invite anyone who is interested to attend their Dig Day. Join them in making their garden dreams a reality! They will be preparing their new gardens, in partnership with Healthy Planet, this Saturday, October 28th from 9 AM - 12:30 PM. Morning snacks, water and coffee will be provided, courtesy of P3. Please see attached flyer for more information and the link to RSVP! 8th Grade Save the Date: NP3 HS is hosting a parent night for all 8th grade families on 11/2 6pm! Learn all about NP3 HS, data & accomplishments, academic expectations, etc. Please see attached flyer. Give the Gift of Warmth!: 7th grader Akshaj Mehta and 1st grader Atiksh Mehta are leading a winter drive for families in need from 10/16-11/17. New/gently used items being collected are as follows: coats, socks, gloves, and sleeping bags. Items may be dropped off to a box in the front office and will be distributed on Thanksgiving. Halloween: On 10/31 students are allowed to wear costumes to school, however we must be able to tell who your student is. Costumes cannot include any weapons or masks. If your student is not in a costume, they must be in dress code. If any part of a costume interrupts student learning, they will be asked to change accordingly. Halloween Lunch Rally: Student Government will be hosting a rally on 10/31 in the quad at lunch. They will be sharing information about upcoming events. Movie Night: NP3 MS will be hosting a movie night on Fri 11/3 from 3:30-5:30pm in the GYM. The movie "Rise of the Guardians" will be played. There is a $4 entrance fee and pizza, nachos, cotton candy and drinks will be sold for $1 each. This event is open to students and families from NP3 MS and NP3 E. Students can bring blankets, pillows, etc. Outdoor Club Field-trip: On 11/4 Outdoor Club will be hiking to Clementine Dam. This is a easy/moderate hike and is about 4.5 miles round-trip. If you would like to participate or join Outdoor Club please see Ms. Marinkovich for details. This is a great way to encourage a love of the outdoors through physical activity and to have fun. Box Tops: Boosters is holding an advisory box top collection competition. The winning advisory will get a pizza party. Please turn in your Box Tops to your student's advisory teacher. The competition will end 10/28. Free Dress Days: As part of our celebration for meeting our fundraising goal, we get free dress days this Thur and Fri! Congratulations! Details and expectations on free dress days: students CAN wear jerseys, athletic attire, sweats, graphic tees etc. or any clothing specified in the dress code. Students CANNOT wear excessively ripped jeans (jeans with holes in the knees are okay), clothing that promotes violence, drugs or alcohol, revealing clothing (i.e. no showing midriffs), including tank tops.

Woot! 3) Congrats to all of NP3 Middle for meeting their goal of raising $3,000! This means the students get 2 free dress days (10/26 & 10/27) AND a new chrome book cart! What a success! Dream team! Yearbook Forms: Please order online at balfour.com or turn in your orders to Ms. Snelling. Yearbooks are $23 each. Cash is accepted and checks are to be made out to NP3 Boosters. Career Day: NP3 will be hosting our annual 7th grade Career Day for 7th grade students on Wed Nov 1! We are looking for parent volunteers to make short presentations to our students on their own professions/jobs, while educating the NP3 students of the daily tasks they perform. If you would like to volunteer without presenting we would love you to help with lunch donations, set-up or clean-up. Q1 Spirit Week: Sept 11-15 is our spirit week. Students must be in dress code unless they are participating in spirit week. Spirit week attire is specific to tops, not bottoms. Monday: College Sports; Tuesday: Nike vs. Adidas; Wednesday: Raiders vs. Niners; Thursday: "Rep Yo Sport/Team"; Friday: Any Sports. Q1 Dance: Our Q1 dance is a Sports theme and will be on 9/15 from 3:30-5:30. Tickets will be sold at lunch and day of the dance. Pre-sale tickets are $3 and tickets sold at the door are $5. Please pick up your student in the front parking lot at 5:30. Booster meeting: The NP3 booster meeting will be held in the NP3 library on 9/11 at 6:30 pm. Snacks will be provided! Leadership Role/Club Rush: This event will happen at lunch on 9/12 and 9/13. Students will be able to apply for a variety of leadership roles on campus or come up with their own! Popsicle Stand: Student Government will be selling popsicles after school on Thu Aug 31 to raise money for future events. The sale will happen in the quad for 50 cents each.
Picture Day: Picture Day for all students is Aug 30. Forms were sent home with students last week. Please make sure they bring the forms with them on picture day.
No School: On Sep 4 for Labor Day.

Advisory Announcements 8/14/17 Due: Tuesday August 22, 2017
FOCUS: We will focus on reinforcing the 7 habits of an effective teen

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Solar Eclipse: The solar eclipse will happen the morning of Mon Aug 21. The sun will disappear behind the moon for the first time since the early 90's; this is a rare and beautiful event. Please be advised that your child should not look directly at the sun on this day, as they shouldn't on any other day. Looking directly at the sun can cause serious injury. NP3 Middle is excited to share they will have a special schedule on this day to experience the event. Students will partake in several activities, which include things like tracking the shadow of the partial eclipse on the ground. We are excited to experience this opportunity and while safety measures will be reviewed and practiced on campus, we also ask that they're discussed at home. Booster Meet and Greet: Boosters are hosting a meet and greet for families to meet from 5:30-7:30 pm Aug 23 at On the Border in Natomas. Come and join! You can help us ensure the parking lot is a safe place and practice kindness by: 1) use only the NP3 lot to pick up and drop off (do not use the Paso Verde lot), 2) respect administration and parent volunteer direction as they guide you to help both the flow of traffic and safety, 3) pull as far forward as possible to ensure the most room possible for cars to enter the lot. Advisory Announcements 8/7/17 Due: Tuesday August 15, 2017
FOCUS: We will be learning about the four levels of behavior this week, as well as practicing procedures and reviewing norms. ANNOUNCEMENTS: -Back to School Night is this Tuesday, August 8th, at 5:30; please come to the Cafeteria. Week of August 1st, 2017 Announcements Due: Tuesday August 08, 2017
Greetings! --A large envelope with an informational packet regarding Science Camp has been sent home with your student. Please take a look at it and return it by Friday, August 11th Planners: Students will be receiving planners from their Advisors! These will be used during classes and are a great tool to use when chatting with your child about their learning! Literacy Assessment: Our school-wide Literacy Assessment is Thur Aug 3. Students should report to Advisory all day. Snack Break: Snacks at snack break from the student store will begin on Wed Sep 2. Back To School Night: Save the date! Come meet your student's teachers Aug 8 at 5:30pm. See attached flyer. Enrichment: Students will be coming home with their Enrichment forms Aug 4. Please help your student select their course preferences and sign the form. They are due back Aug 7. Booster Meet and Greet: Boosters are hosting a meet and greet from 5:30-7:30pm Aug 23 at On the Border in Natomas. Booster Meeting: The first booster meeting of the year will take place Aug 14 at 6:30pm in the NP3 library.
