FOCUS: Our focus this week completing drafts of our expository essay summative.
ASSIGNMENTS: Students will select textual evidence from an article. With their selected textual evidence, students will complete a paragraph foldable that includes: a topic sentence, textual evidence and commentary. Students will also identify the central idea of their article.
ASSESSMENTS: Formative Assessments on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. All are related to selecting textual evidence and composing commentary.

FOCUS: Our focus this week is preparing for and beginning our expository essay summative.
ASSIGNMENTS: Students will read an article titled, "Service dogs to the rescue". They will complete multiple reads of the text and mark the text for a focus for reading. They will take notes on each section and identify the central idea. They will select textual evidence and write a complete expository paragraph with a topic sentence, textual evidence, and commentary.
ASSESSMENTS: Formative Assessments on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. All are related to identifying important details in a text, identifying the central idea, and creating commentary.
