Upcoming Assignments

Focus: Students will be continuing to read Tangerine in class. Students will be focusing on characters and character choices.
Assignments: Students will have formatives in class on Tangerine.
Assessments: No summatives.
Homework: Students should be working on any retakes. If students are absent, they should be reading Tangerine at home.

Focus:: Proving an author's claim and supporting the claim with text evidence and commentary.
Assignments: Students will be analyzing non-fiction text that they will use in their summative this week. Students will need to identify two central ideas and provide evidence and commentary for each. Students will be practicing debates and rebuttals in class.
Assessments: Students will have a summative on Monday and Tuesday on proving claims with text evidence and commentary.
Homework: Read for 30 minutes, work on retakes over Winter Break. Have a great break!!

Focus: Lit Circles and Marketing to Youth
Assignments: Students will be working of their expository essay all week in class. They will have time in class to write on a laptop, but if they do not finish in class, they should be working on the essay at home.
Assessments: Retakes for Choice Narrative: Students must schedule a reteach before they submit their narrative for a retake. Retakes for Myths will be during lunch on Wednesday.
Homework: Complete essay paragraphs if not finished in class. Literature Circle questions due every Friday.
