ADVISORY

The vision of NP3 K-12 is to inspire, cultivate, and support innovative educational excellence every day. In doing so, our goal is to personalize the middle school experience ensuring that all students and parents are known. Relationship building is at the core of who we are and we strive to make sure no student falls through the cracks.
Advisory is a class that occurs four times weekly. Each student is assigned an Advisory teacher that is also one of their content teachers. It is this teacher’s job to know each Advisee well and to build a trusting relationship. The Advisor also follows Advisee academic progress closely. Advisors are a bridge between school and home and is there to support the student through their middle school years.
In addition, the Advisory teacher communicates weekly updates and assignments, helps facilitate student communication of their own learning progress and goal setting. Advisors also play an important role in student led conferences three times annually. Within the class, Advisors work with students on a variety of project-based learning experiences such as Career or College Fairs, provides team building opportunities and infuses anti-bullying concepts into lessons. Grade level teams target themes and skill building such as cultural diversity, career/college readiness, responsibility, and kindness throughout the year.
Please feel free to contact your student’s Advisory teacher anytime. It is what they are there for and they are happy to work with you through your child’s learning experiences.
