About Me

Hello! This is my 9th year teaching at NP3 Middle School. I was living and teaching in Orange County, California prior to relocating. This is my 22nd year of teaching. My last name is pronounced (oon-gow) just in case you needed a little help.:o) I love helping students fill the gapshere at NP3 with all of you!

My new office hours are: M-F 8-3PM. Please email me any questions about the assignments or concerns.

Special Interests: I love animals! I enjoy observing them in their natural habitats as well as having pets as companions. I like hiking, fishing, camping, and most anything outdoors. I love relaxing with my family. Hanging out with family and friends is always wonderful and full of laughs.

Why I love Teaching:  Working with students is my number one reason for teaching. I get a rush as I watch a student master a new concept or come up with an innovative idea. There's no better sound than that "Aha!" moment in class. In that moment, a student's knowledge just expanded by sharing some of my own. The result is very rewarding for the student and myself. I especially enjoy helping 6-8 NP3 students fill in their reading and writing gaps by using curriculum in the Learning Center and giving teachers and students support in their classes. Because I am able to work one-on-one and in small groups with students, I get to build meaningful relationships.

Degree(s): Major: Liberal Studies Elementary Education, Minor: Teaching English as a Second Language
