DISTANCE LEARNING Information & Resources

Distance Learning General Information

This fall we are opening with distance learning. This means learning will continue for our students beyond our campus. Keeping students connected and engaged in relationships and critical thinking are continued priorities. We appreciate our family and staff flexibility and will continue to work together to provide the best learning opportunities for our students. Families can expect NP3 to communicate shifts between learning models as county and state information is updated. Practices, procedures and learning from 4th quarter distance learning will look different than 2020-21 distance learning. Families can expect an increase in live classes, rigor, accountability and more. We look forward to this journey together. ARRRGH!
Teachers are planning for student learning in a flexible setting. We know families have different settings and needs while their child learns from home. This means teachers will accommodate for students showing what they know by providing a time period for due dates compared to past practices of asking for something the next day. Teachers will use Google Classroom as the main platform to communicate lessons, information and more on a weekly basis. Learning will take place during scheduled live sessions, video, independently, small group, whole group and more. Let’s get to learning together!
NP3 families can expect continued service for free meals similar to the process used spring 2020. For further information regarding meal distribution, visit the NUSD distance learning site. “Free summer meals” and “Joey’s food locker” tabs both offer information on food service options.
NP3 Schools continue to work with school and city officials and Sacramento County Public Health for updates specific to COVID-19. We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available. For more information specific to COVID-19, visit the Sacramento County Public Health site or the CDC site.
At this time, the 2020-21 calendar year remains the same. We will continue to keep you up-to-date, if changes arise, as more information becomes available. A link to the calendar is coming soon.
From the information we have at this time, all in person activities are canceled. We will continue to keep you up-to-date, as changes arise as more information becomes available. The new family orientation and back to school night are currently rescheduled for all-in-one package July 30 6pm online. Advisors will be contacting home the week of July 27 with more information.

The sites are free and easy to navigate for at home learning opportunities. If you’re new to checking out sites to support learning at home, we suggest starting small and picking one site to check out over the course of a week’s time.

NP3 has compiled a list and access to educational sites. These sites have been visited by staff and are a great addition to your child’s learning. Take a look if you’re interested! Visit the site here.

Comcast is offered as free wi-fi for our families. This is offered to NP3 and NUSD families. Additional support is available on this site. For more information, visit the site here.

Distance learning can be fun and exciting! It is also a huge shift to our norm and can be very challenging. Please consider these tips as your child prepares for distance learning and to support them during this time. Click here for more information.
