The goal of distance learning is to continue to extend learning opportunities for our students beyond our campus. We want to keep students connected and engaged in critical thinking. We are all navigating new territory and we will continue to work together to provide the best learning opportunities. You can view the most recent school notice regarding information on what to expect for distance learning here.
Teachers will be planning for student learning in a flexible setting. This means teachers will provide work for a given week and expect the work in return within the same time frame. Students are not expected to participate in a traditional school day schedule so as to accommodate for varied schedules and needs with our families during this time. Student work shouldn’t exceed one hour of time per content per week during distance learning.
During the 3-week closure, NUSD will be providing the opportunity for families to pick up free lunch and breakfast at 15 locations for children 18 and under between the hours of 11:30am and 12:30pm. This option is thru April 3. These meals will be made available for free, regardless of the school of attendance. No paperwork is required. Children must be present in order for meals to be provided. We encourage families to continue to be proactive in reducing the risk of COVID-19 by not congregating at the school site and using social distancing once meals have been distributed. For further information regarding meal distribution, visit the NUSD food and nutrition site.
NP3 Schools continue to work with school and city officials and Sacramento County Public Health for updates specific to COVID-19. We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available. For more information specific to COVID-19, visit the Sacramento County Public Health site or the CDC site.
