Morgan Lau, Natomas High School, Class of 2017
Morgan Lau is making people feel good with his scrumptious meals. And he credits his football coach, Ryan Battle, with helping him to follow his dreams and go hard or go home. “He pushed me to go beyond my best whether it be on the football field or in the classroom, said Lau. He instilled in me and my teammates to do everything at 100% even if we make mistakes at least we gave it our all. I still take that with me to this day while I’m at ARC or at work in the kitchen.” Lau is enrolled in the culinary program at American River College. He works full-time at the restaurant he first started working at when he was a senior at Natomas High. As a cook, he has developed his own dishes for the restaurant, one of which landed him sharing his recipe and cooking techniques on a morning news show. His dream is to open up his own restaurant one day.
