Dreams do not become reality through magic but through sweat, determination, and hard work. That’s the motto Myles Miller, a 2015 graduate of Inderkum High School, lives by and what’s garnered him 1st place titles in regional, national and international bodybuilding competitions. But before winning 1st place in three divisions during the 2019 NGA Drug-Free Mr. California Pro Qualifier Body Building competition this past June and 1st place and pro status in the 2019 NGA Tahoe International Invitational competition in July, Myles’ commitment to succeeding started at Heron, Leroy Greene, and Inderkum. “At Inderkum, I learned how to effectively communicate with others, problem-solve, and work with others toward a common goal. My math teacher Derek Dykstra not only taught me about math concepts, but he also inspired me to critically think about the world around me in order to solve problems and look for a variety of solutions,” said Myles. Now, he is able to put those skills to good use during competitions and in class at Sacramento State University where he is completing his last year towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Human Resources. Way to go Myles!
