NUSD Families,

We are off to a strong start distributing Chromebooks to students that need them to complete distance learning the remaining school year.  As of the end of the day yesterday, we had already distributed 4,100. That’s almost 80% of what we anticipated distributing not including the “Unforgotten” families that have not contacted us but may still have a need for a Chromebook for their student. We have sent emails, phone calls, and even text messages to all of our families, but recognize there still may be some families that are unaware.

To accommodate those families, and families that are unable to make it during the daytime hours because of being “essential workers” and other reasons, we have added an additional opportunity for families to pick up Chromebooks on Thursday, April 2 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at two locations:

  • Natomas Unified School District Education Center, located at 1901 Arena Blvd. (Please enter on the Gateway Park Blvd. entrance.)
  • Jefferson School, located at 2001 Pebblewood Drive.

Both locations are open to any NUSD family that still needs a Chromebook for their student to complete distance learning.  We ask that you adhere to the following guidelines to help us serve each family as efficiently as possible:

  • Students: Bring your school ID or another form of ID if available.
  • Parents: Have your student present when picking up the device if possible.
  • Drivers: Remain in your vehicles, and wait patiently to be served for safety and social distancing.
  • Walkers: If you must walk, please keep and adhere to the 6ft distance rule as you approach the check-out station. We prefer that families drive.

Access to the Internet will be addressed at another time with those families who need it. We will provide more information in an upcoming communication.
