Welcome to Natomas Unified School District’s Early Learning Program! NUSD has many opportunities for learning and development for children ages birth through five and their families. First 5 Sacramento funds and supports NUSD’s programs for our community.

Preschool

Natomas Unified School District offers a free preschool program serving children who reside in Natomas. Program is offered Monday-Friday for three hours a day with a morning and afternoon session. Preschool eligibility is based on documentation and verification of at least one of the following:

  1. Homeless
  2. Recipient of child protective services or at risk of neglect, abuse or exploitation
  3. A current cash aid recipient
  4. Income AND
  • Students must be 3 or 4 on or before December 2, 2020

Transitional Kindergarten

Natomas Unified School District offers Transitional Kindergarten (TK) to students who turn 5 between September 2nd and December 2nd of the academic school year they are enrolling. Program is offered Monday-Friday for 6 hours (full day) approximately 7:45 a.m. – 1:40 p.m. 

Transitional Kindergarten (TK)  is an opportunity for students to have an additional year of experience working with peers and foundational skills before Kindergarten. To enroll your child for the current school year, please contact your local elementary school. To enroll for the 2020-2021 school year, please contact the Enrollment Department at (916) 567-5819.

Kindergarten

Natomas Unified School District offers Kindergarten to students who turn 5 on or before September 1st of the academic year they are enrolling. Kindergarten is offered Monday-Friday for 6 hours approximately 7:45 a.m. – 1:40 p.m. combining direct instruction, small group instruction, hands-on activities, and use of technology to provide a rich and well-rounded program.
