Poster/Writing Contest in Celebration of Sikh Awareness and Appreciation Month

During the month of November, California celebrates Sikh Awareness and Appreciation Month. In support of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Sikh community within the Natomas Unified School District, we are inviting students to participate in a poster/writing contest to spread awareness and appreciation of our diversity. Students are asked to illustrate the theme in a hand drawing or one-page essay an important fact about Sikh culture.   • The contest will be divided into two winners: Elementary (K-6) and Secondary (7-12)
  • Poster can be a minimum of 8 ½ x 11 (standard letter size) or a maximum of 8 ½ x 14 (legal size)
  • Poster or essay can be submitted digitally or in-person but must be the original work of the author
    • Send your essay or take a picture of your poster and send it to [email protected]. Be sure to include your first and last name, grade, and school of attendance in the email
    • Or turn in your submission to your front office or drop it off at 1901 Arena Blvd. Be sure to include your first and last name, grade, and school of attendance 
  • Submissions are due no later than 4 p.m. Monday, November 14
  • Submissions will be evaluated by NUSD staff on their originality, creativity, and effectiveness in expressing the theme
  • Winners will be announced during the celebration Friday, November 18

Prizes such as Amazon and Target gift cards will be awarded to top winners
