The GED® credential is deemed by California law to be the equivalent of a high school diploma for the purposes of most employment and is recognized nationally. Students passing the exam will receive a credential from the California Department of Education (CDE).

The GED® Test Preparation class provides students with continuous test preparation and assessment to help successfully pass the GED® battery of tests. The class provides an interactive, self-paced learning environment in an instructional class setting. Students will receive both group and individually designed lessons in preparation for the GED examination.

The GED exam is a computer based test comprised of four sub sections:

1. Reasoning through language arts

2. Mathematical reasoning

3. Science

4. Social Studies

Special accommodations are available for testers with certain physical or learning disabilities and must be requested well in advance of testing.

According to the GED testing service:

• The GED® credential is accepted by over 97% of colleges and employers

• 60% of recent GED® graduates are enrolled in college
