Healthy children make better learners, so as the school year nears, we’re helping to spread the word about special enrollments available through Covered California, the state exchange for health insurance policies tied to federal health-care reform. The open enrollment period generally is once per year, but special enrollments are available for 60 days after major life events – such as marriage, adoption, naturalization, or loss of coverage at work.
