Certificated High School Teachers

Training & Preparation days – May 28th – 29th, Time 9:00am – 1:00pm (2 days)
Instructional Dates: June 1st – June 26th, Time 9:00am – 1:00pm (20 days)
Total Days of Work: 22 days
Time: 4 hours/day
Pay: $40.00 an hour 

Teacher – Job Responsibility
Teacher paid 4 hours a day to provide student with support, manage student progress and completion of course work, utilizing existing distance learning platforms such as Google classroom, APEX and district and site approved curricular resources.

Time Activity
9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Available to students and families for via email and/or other virtual platforms to respond to and support students’ needs
10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Provide drop-in tutoring focused on small group or individual instruction based on students needs.
11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Live assessment and in-person assignments as well as grading and progress monitoring.
1 hr a day Lesson Planning; Staff will set their daily schedule to allow for one hour of day of planning and grading. Record instruction video focused on teaching students on a standard and/or skill to support their progress.

Additional duties include: 

  • Work with counselors to ensure credits are reported on the students’ transcripts.
  • Work with your school site administration to support students struggling to make progress or complete needed course to graduate.
  • Staff will follow the set daily schedule and will be expected to provide daily instruction, resources and supports to students through Distance Learning. 

Certificated – English Learner (Pilot Program) Teachers

Training & Preparation days – June 3rd & 4th, Time 9:00am – 1:00pm (2 days)
Instructional Dates: June 1st – June 19th, Time 9:00am – 1:00pm (15 days)
Total Days of Work: 17 days
Time: 4 hours/day
Pay: $40.00 an hour

Teacher – Job Responsibility
Teacher paid 4 hours a day to pilot a distance learning program to support our English learners in grades 4th-8th. The pilot program would provide instruction that focuses on scaffolded, social and academic interaction needed to support English language acquisition.  Needs will be differentiated for Long-Term English Learners (LTELs) or those at risk of becoming LTELs, as well as newcomers, allowing us to serve our English learners to continue to provide English language development (ELD). We will run this pilot for 3 weeks in June to determine the viability of expanding the structure to support other students.

Time Activity
9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Provide 1.5 hour a day of direct instruction focused on teaching students on a standard and/or skill to support their progress in English Language Development (ELD).
10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Available to students and families for via email and/or other virtual platforms to respond to and support students’ need.
1 1/2 hrs a day Lesson planning; program development; and reviewing student work and providing feedback (Staff will set their daily schedule to allow for planning and grading).

Additional duties include: 

  • Work with the district TOSA team to monitor, track, and modify instruction to determine viability of expanding the structure to support other students.
  • Staff will follow the set daily schedule and will be expected to provide daily instruction, resources and supports to students through Distance Learning. 

Certificated – Kinder Readiness Teachers

Training & Preparation days – May 28 – 29th, Time 9:00am – 1:00pm (2 days)
Instructional Dates: June 1st – June 26th, Time 9:00am – 11:00pm (20 days)
Total Days of Work: 22 days
Time: 4 hours/day
Pay: $40.00 an hour

Teacher – Job Responsibility
Teachers will be paid 4 hours a day to support and prepare children who will be entering into TK or K in the fall of 2020. 

Time Activity
9:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. Direct instruction to large group of 25 students for 15 minutes and 30 minutes of small group instruction provided by teacher and CDA’s at a ratio of 1 to 5.
9:45 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Debrief with staff about zoom session; take notes for adjustments or what went well.
10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Available to students and families for via email and/or other virtual platforms to respond to and support students’ needs.
1.5 hr a day Lesson Planning; Lesson Planning and program development: Staff will set their daily schedule to allow for one and 1/2 hour of day of planning.

Additional duties include: 

  • Staff will follow the set daily schedule and will be expected to provide daily instruction, resources and supports to students, to determine successful methods of instruction via Distance Learning.
  • Staff will report directly to Natomas Unified School District Coordinator Tiffany Davidson.

Certificated – Special Education Teacher, including Adaptive PE (all certificated SPED staff, except Speech/Psych)

Training & Preparation days: 2 days,  May 28th – 29th
Instructional Dates: 20 days,  June 1st – June 26th
Total Days of Work: 22 days
Time: 4 hour a day
Pay: $40.00 an hour

Time Activity
2 hr a day between 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Providing direct instruction in a workshop model. Student application and IEP at a glance will be provided to the teacher by May 28th to schedule the workshop. Workshops are to be provided in small groups and depending on the age of the student are 30 minutes to 1 hour each. The teacher will schedule students based on the IEP; with 2-5 sessions per week per student. If the student does NOT have ESY on their IEP; teachers will use the annual IEP to determine service levels. Teachers will coordinate schedules directly with parents. Teachers will provide up to 2 hours of direct instruction per day.
1 hr a day Consultation with parents and Instructional assistants (IA). Teacher will provide the daily schedule to the Instructional Assistant; including up to 4 hours a day of IA workshop instruction.
1 hr a day Lesson Planning: Staff will set their daily schedule to allow for one hour of day of planning and providing material to the IA.

Additional duties include: 

  • Staff will follow the set daily schedule and will be expected to provide daily instruction, resources and supports to students via Distance Learning.
  • Staff will report directly to Natomas Unified School District Director Tracy Barbieri.

Certificated – High School Counselor

Work Dates: June 1st – June 26th
Total Days of Work: 20
Time: 4 hour a day
Pay: $40.00 an hour

Counselor – Job Responsibility

  • Ensure credits earned are reported on the students’ transcripts.
  • Work with your school site administration to maximize students ability to take course and earn credits
  • Enroll and disenroll students as courses are completed to allow for students to take as many courses during the 4 week summer session.
  • Track all students designated to attend summer school and support students struggling to make progress or complete needed course to graduate.
  • Track number of students, by grade level, that earn courses in individual courses, both for credit recovery and credit acceleration.
  • Staff will report directly to their admin assigned to support the school site Summer School.
  • Be available to students and families for via email and/or other virtual platforms to respond to and support students’ needs.

Certificated – Psychologist, Speech Language Pathologist

1 hr a day Lesson Planning: Staff will set their daily schedule to allow for one hour of day of planning and providing material to the support staff.
