Beginning his ninth year at Natomas Unified, Supt. Chris Evans oversees a growing, diverse district of 15,000 students located several miles north of the Capitol. Since his arrival, NUSD has received World School Authorization for its International Baccalaureate Diploma, Primary and Middle Years Programmes. The district also has been selected to offer the AP Capstone Diploma program at Natomas High; has seen Two Rivers Elementary chosen as a Caifornia Distinguished School by the state Department of Education; and has won two national awards from the College Board for providing rigorous academic opportunities to underrepresented students. NUSD is committed to providing students with numerous college and career readiness options, ranging from Culinary Arts/Hospitality to Robotics, Engineering, Visual Arts, Business/Marketing, Broadcasting, and a pathway to Health-care careers. Mr. Evans’ Sacramento roots extend back to his college days, when he attended CSU Sacramento. A Natomas resident, the superintendent is the proud father of two NUSD graduates and a student currently attending a district school.
