If you drove by Two Rivers Elementary School this morning, don’t worry, there was no emergency – all those police, fire, ambulance, and other public safety vehicles were invited onto campus.
Two Rivers’ annual Public Safety Day gives students at Two Rivers a closer look at possible careers in law enforcement and emergency response.
Units varied from the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, City of Folsom CERT Community Emergency Response Team, and the Sacramento Fire Department. Otters got to tour the inside of an ambulance, pet horses Tango and Copper, and hang onto a SWAT vehicle. So cool!!
Starting this fall, Natomas Unified will launch its new Public Safety pathway at Inderkum High School, giving qualified students interested in law enforcement the opportunity to learn about various aspects of police work and related careers.
Perhaps several Otters will take this course in coming years? We hope so — or should we say, 10-4 copy that!!
