July 2019

Dear Two Rivers Families,

I am excited to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year at Two Rivers Elementary School! Our teachers have been busy this summer planning a wonderful year for our students. Please join me in welcoming our new staff.

The students, staff, and families of Two Rivers Elementary are members of a community in which all strive to support student growth in all domains: academic, social-emotional, and physical development. This community supports and cares for each other as we prepare students for college and career and aspire to the highest levels of achievement.

Two Rivers welcomes all of our families to participate in our students’ eduction! There are several ways to become involved in the Two Rivers community. Joining the PTA is an opportunity to meet other parents and teachers, to build rapport and develop relationships. School Site Council is a group of teachers, parents, and classified employees that work with me to develop, review and evaluate school improvement programs and school budgets. We also have an English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) for parents and other community members who want to advocate for English Learners. Throughout the year, we will be providing you with information on our school website, in teacher newsletters, calendars, email newsletters, and with Infinite Campus phone calls. You may also access the Infinite Campus Parent Portal from our school website.

I am eagerly anticipating the upcoming year and welcoming our families back to campus. The first day of school for students is Wednesday, August 7th. School begins each day at 7:45 a.m. for all students. Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten dismissal time is 1:38 p.m., while 1st-5th grades will dismiss at 1:55 p.m. Traffic is always more congested during the first weeks of school. We are striving to lessen the impact of traffic in and around our school during drop off and pick up. Thank you in advance for cooperating with our staff in keeping all of our students and parents safe during these high traffic periods.

Our office will reopen August 1st at 1:00 p.m., and class lists will be posted Friday, August 2nd at 5:00 p.m. Back to School Night for Two Rivers will be held on Thursday, August 29th from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. This is a great time to become familiar with teacher expectations and your student’s classroom.

I am so proud to be your principal and look forward to a successful school year together. If you have any questions about our school, programs, or expectations, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
