Students will create their own written summary of the story which can be used as a CFU.
Opening/Warmup/Connecting Prior Knowledge
Connect with prior knowledge:
Write the word "sequence" on the board. Ask students to turn to a partner and discuss what it means for something to be in sequence. Come back to whole class discussion and write a definition for sequence on the board.
Example:
Sequence: a particular order in which related events follow each other.
Ask students, when you are reading, what words can help tell you about sequence? (first, second, third, before, after, next, finally, etc.) Keep these up on the board for students to refer to during the lesson.
