CalGrant GPA in IC
CalGrant GPA | This GPA is calculated using courses taken in grades 10 and 11 with a check in CalGrant GPA. If there are multiple courses with the same course number and one is flagged as a repeat, only the repeat course is used in the calculation, as long as the repeat was taken in grade 10 or 11. The unweighted GPA value is used. This GPA reports as NNN in the CalGrant GPA Verification and Upload reports, and in standard decimal format on the transcript. |
Process to Ensure Accurate CalGrant GPA
Outlined below is the process to ensure accurate CalGrant GPA calculation and extract of students (including only students that have not opted out):
- Mark all students that have not opted out of reporting CalGrant GPA on the student’s 12th grade enrollment (Enrollment). This must be done each year for all 12th grade students.

CalGrant OK | Indicates permission has been given for the student to be reported in the CalGrant reports. |
- Ensure that all appropriate courses taken in 10th and 11th grade are marked for CalGrant GPA (in Transcripts) for each student. This must be done for all 12th and 11th graders in 2015-16. Moving forward, this will be based on information setup in Course Masters (see below) and will not need to be done.
NOTE: Because this information was not captured in infinite-campus, all transcript information was brought over to Infinite Campus, except PE courses, defaulted to ‘checked’ for CalGrant GPA.

- Ensure all Course Masters are appropriately marked in Infinite Campus to be included/excluded from CalGrant GPA calculation. This needs to be done for all high school courses currently in IC and those that are added in the future.
