Animal Habitat Project
Background:
In class we have been learning about different animal habitats. We have researched various habitats and the characteristics of each.
The Challenge:
You work for an animal rescue group. You have recently received this animal. Your challenge is to design a habitat for this animal that makes it feel at home. You must then describe the habitat and record a presentation for fellow animal rescuers.
The Criteria:
Your habitat must contain the following elements:
- Space for your animal to move around- at least 2 inches on all sides when the animal is inside
- At least 3 specific details/features from your habitat (examples: landforms, precipitation, water features, plants)
- A label for your habitat and animal **Your habitat must be neatly constructed and show effort and creativity.
Report:
Your report must contain the following:
- An introduction to your animal and its habitat
- A description of the habitat, including the 3 details and features
- One interesting fact about your animal
Materials and Tools:
You may use any of the following- construction paper, plain paper, rulers, yarn/string, scrap fabric, felt, cardboard, popsicle sticks, tape, paint, glue, coloring materials, etc.
