NJ Falo went from a Tiger to a Buffalo today.

The Inderkum High School football star signed a letter of intent to play for the Colorado Buffaloes next year, capping a sterling high school career that landed him on the Sacramento Bee’s All-Metro team and MaxPreps’ 2nd Team All-State.

“I’m blessed to be in this position right now,” said NJ, whose full name is Nu’umotu but everyone knows him by his initials.

MaxPreps lists him as racking up 50 tackles this year, four sacks, and five fumble recoveries. But the 6-foot-2, 225 pound linebacker has even more impressive numbers to tout as he braces to leave Inderkum: a 3.7 grade point average.

NJ knows the University of Colorado’s head football coach, Mike MacIntyre, because the latter formerly coached one of the Falo brothers, Nate, at San Jose State College.

“I know they can help me fulfull my NFL dream,” NJ said of the Buffaloes’ coaching staff.

NJ’s mother, Becca, attended a signing ceremony Wednesday at Inderkum. “I’m super proud,” she said. “I know that Colorado is a little far from here, but I know NJ is going to be in good hands.”

Tigers’ Coach Terry Stark said the Buffaloes are getting an ace linebacker, an outstanding person and an excellent student.

“He’s been a special leader for us the whole time he’s been here,” Stark said.

The Inderkum coach predicts a bright future for NJ in football.

“He’s got the size and the speed and an incredible work ethic,” Stark said. “On top of that, he’s a great student. He’s got the full package.”
